Jamaica’s senior women’s netball team, the Sunshine Girls, are now ranked second in the world.
The ranking represents the highest position for the team on the International Netball Federation (INF) table since Netball Jamaica’s establishment in 1959.
The Sunshine Girls, who were previously ranked third, switched places with rivals England Roses, but Australia remains the top team in world netball.
The ranking change will be welcomed by Netball Jamaica as the team gets ready for the start of the INF World Cup in Liverpool, England on Friday, July 19.
